Stuck in a Photoshop
Beginner's Rut?
"Being an experienced Photoshop user, I wish
I had this book 2 years ago; if I had, I would've
been taught a year's worth of knowledge in less
than an hour compared to surfing the Internet and finding
useless tutorials getting me nowhere. A must have
for all Photoshop users."
James Markey, www.jambotron.co.uk
Do You Have the Painful Experience
of Being Stuck in Photoshop?
Fellow Photoshopper,
As a beginner in Photoshop, it is common to
be overwhelmed by the steep learning curve of this sophisticated
software. Do you often wonder how other users create pieces
after peices of amazing art while you struggle to follow
one of those step-by-step "how to create fire in Photoshop"
tutorials?
Let me tell you my experience. As the chairman
of the Computer club at my school, I often teach my members
how to use Photoshop.
One day, a member suddenly asked, "How
do I create a new document in Photoshop?" That question
really surprised me and I felt saddened by the fact that
many Photoshop beginners are not users at all. They
are just replicators -- they only know how to follow instructions
to achieve a certain objective.
Let's turn the focus on you now. Are you a
Photoshop user or a "copying machine"? Do you know how to
create just about anything desired with Photoshop,
or do you only follow instructions?
Imagine if you could create just about any
graphic that is required. Website banners? No problem. Buttons?
Piece of cake. What about splash images or wallpapers or
corporate logos? Done before you can say " I love Photoshop".
What if you could say "yes, I'm at that level of expertise"
to all the above examples?
Actually, the above scenarios are all perfectly
achievable. You can do it! The key is in actually
learning the tools of Photoshop, not learning the
"instant chrome" or "amazing plasma" or "supernova" or "realistic
thunder" trash that are bloating Photoshop portals on the
Internet.
If you would like to be able to
- create any image on demand
- design banners, templates, buttons from scratch
And you believe in the fact that learning
Photoshop (and not the "instant effects tutorials") is the
way to achieve this, let me show you the way.
Rather than Asking for Gold
Bars from Midas, Why Not Ask for His Finger?
There are many tools that the programmers
of Photoshop have built for your use. When you acquire Photoshop,
you actually have a set of tools that you can unleash to
create images -- any image that you desire.
The reason that Photoshop is such a versatile
software -- it can be used to correct photographs, design
interfaces and templates, and so on -- is that it has a
very powerful arsenal of tools.
How nice would it be if you could visualise
an image in your mind and straightaway put it on the Photoshop
canvas? How about if you could fulfill any request that
a client makes? You do have the tools. Now, all you need
is the knowledge.
How to Actually Use
Photoshop
The key in unlocking your unlimited potential
and Photoshop's powerful abilities is your knowledge. That
is, how much you can achieve with Photoshop is only limited
by your imagination and your knowledge of the tools
in Photoshop.
If you want to stop getting stuck in Photoshop
and start unleashing your unlimited potential with Photoshop,
you have to learn the basic functions of the tools in Photoshop.
Only then could you move on to create graphics at your
own will and understand even more advanced functions
in Photoshop.
It is for this very reason that I have written
The Practical Photoshop Starter's Guide.
The Practical Photoshop Starter's Guide covers
the very basics of Photoshop -- just what you need. Once
you grasp these basics, you can start creating images that
you want and not limited by the effects that the step-by-step
tutorials teach. You will be your own teacher and learn
Photoshop the right way.
With the Practical Photoshop Starter's Guide,
you will be able to
- learn how to make Photoshop really work for you
- grasp the basics of every useful tool in Photoshop
Best of all, with only 34 pages, you will
be able to finish it very quickly. Please don't misinterpret
the minimal number of pages; I have condensed my working
knowledge of Photoshop so that you can "get it" in the
least number of sentences, and therefore in the shortest
time. However, rest assured that I write in complete
sentences in the ebook :)
At this point, I would like to invite you
to take a look at the ebook itself. Please download
the sample chapters and see if I practise what I preach.
I'll wait for you while you go fetch and read it.
Finished? If you've read the sample chapters,
you will find that it really helps you to grasp the uses
and methods of each tool in Photoshop. With this knowledge,
you can start your own journey of exploration in Photoshop.
You are not groping in the dark, struggling to do simple
procedures in Photoshop anymore.
Instead, you are exploring the new frontiers
and possibilities that are now wide open to you.
With firm knowledge of the powerful tools in Photoshop,
you will be able to do what I just promised: Create any
images that you want. Make any graphic that you can imagine.
This is all possible because you now know how to make
Photoshop work for you.
You have just read the sample chapters and
you are already expanding your abilities of Photoshopping.
The sample chapter only contains information on how to
- Set Up the Photoshop Interface (Chapter 1)
- Work with Layers (Chapter 2)
Yet, you already have a vast ability
of finally being able to work with Photoshop.
What if you could learn these too?
- Working with Text
- The Brush Engine in Photoshop
- The Pen Tool
- Colour & Alpha Channels
These are the actual chapters of the
complete ebook, the Practical Photoshop Starter's Guide.
By reading the remaining chapters that are only available
in the complete version of the ebook, you will be able to
unlock more of your unlimited potentials in Photoshop. You
will be able to effortlessly lead Photoshop by the nose
and make it toil for you.
Music to your ears? Wait till you hear this.
While many so-called training software and Photoshop books
are priced from $30.00 to astronomical prices, this ebook
is dirt cheap. Priced at only $10.00 (USD), you will
be able to get the ebook just by paying the price of two
lunches.
Just to further convince you, please take
a sneek peek at this excerpt from the "The Pen Tool" chapter.

Satisfied Readers Say:
Every Photoshop user should know and understand
the basics. I used to think I was beyond "the basics" of Photoshop
but after reading your book I could clearly see how much I
was missing. The book is so easy to understand and gives such
great information that every Photoshop beginner should have
a copy.
Dan Gronitz, www.dmgdd.com
I teach raw beginners - most of my students
have never seen Photoshop and their decision is between doing
the work themselves or taking it to a store for processing.
I find that the book continues from where I left off so I
feel quite strongly that it is a good introduction to the
workings of Photoshop.
