Dear Fellow Virtual Consultants,
We hope that all of you that celebrate the Thanksgiving
Holiday had a
Great One! :)
We believe that it is always wise to focus on
one's core competencies
and seek the assistance of others whose core competencies
lie outside
those areas of one’s own …
Wouldn’t you all agree?
Therefore, do you, Virtual Consultants use Joint
Ventures to supplement
and/or complement your core competencies?
We would like to share and discuss, herein, how
to successfully seek,
propose and secure some type(s) of mutually beneficial
joint ventures
(JV's) with those whose core competencies lie
in other areas, ok?
Therefore, we hope that you will share with your
Fellow VCDL Members
your experiences, "tips", helpful hints"
etc. on how does one go about
getting started in successfully seeking, proposing,
negotiating, and
securing various type(s) of mutually beneficial
joint ventures (JV's)?
We are compiling links to various Joint Venture
(JV) resources, etc. in
our Resource Center also for your use and benefit
at:
http://www.thevcf.com/vccenter.phtml#JV
We also hope that these discussions and resources
will be mutually
beneficial and helpful to many of our fellow VCDL

Dear Fellow Virtual Consultants,
How do you virtually network with your fellow
consultants, other
business owners and professionals?
What networking techniques do you find are most
successful virtually?
And why?
What, if any, specific challenges do you find
trying to network with
these other business people virtually? And …
What do you do to address and overcome these
challenges?
We are compiling links to various business networking
resources, etc. in
our Resource Center also for your use and benefit
at:
http://www.thevcf.com/vccenter.phtml#NETWORK
[ Please also allow me to also share with you
my (unsolicited)
Testimonial and very high recommendations for
Nancy Roebke, Profnet, her
Networking organization, and NetworkInk, her Networking
newsletter! J
I have known and worked with Nancy, both online
and offline for a number
of years (since what we refer to as the “early
days of the internet”
;)). She has always been a Great Help! :) and
her NetworkInk newsletter
is excellently written and full of great content
regarding both online
and offline networking!
Again, I would highly recommend that you also
subscribe to NetworkInk
and if you have the opportunity to participate
in a Profnet Chapter in
your area, again I would highly recommend that
you take advantage of
these networking opportunities as well! ]
We look forward to hearing from you for our mutual
benefit.
We Hope this all helps!

#3 Virtual Freelancing
-----------------------------------------------------------
From: Michael S. DeVries <DeVries@cris.com>

Dear Fellow Virtual Consultants,
What role(s) do you feel that Freelancing plays
in your Virtual
Consulting?
Do you consider yourself a “Freelancer” in your
virtual consulting work?
Do you utilize “freelancers” for any types of
work on your virtual
consulting engagements?
Why? Or Why Not?
How has it worked for you in your experience?
What types of work do you feel are best “sub-contracted”
and/or
“outsourced” to “freelancers”?
And which types of work are not good “fits” for
“freelancers”?
Have you worked as a “freelance virtual consultant”
on someone else’s
engagement(s)?
How did that work out for you?
Would you do it again?
Why? Or Why Not?
What other advice would you be willing and able
to share with either:
1) Those seeking “freelance resources” for their
virtual consulting
engagements?
2) Those seeking to provide their virtual consulting
services on a
freelance basis?
We are compiling links to various “freelancing”
resources, etc. in our
Job Links web page, where you may find links to
“freelancing” sites to
either offer your services and/or find other “freelancers”
for your
virtual consulting engagements at:
http://www.thevcf.com/joblink.phtml#FREELANCE
Please pardon our progress as our Job Links web
page(s) are currently
undergoing major renovations to make them easier
to use and more useful
for you.
Please let us know if you are aware of any additional
freelance sites
and/or resources which you would like to see included
on our sites for
the mutual benefit of our Virtual Consulting Discussion
List Members.
We look forward to hearing from you for our mutual
benefit.
We Hope this all helps!

#4 How do you use Press Resources?

Dear Fellow Virtual Consultants,
How do you use Press Resources to promote and
market your Virtual
Consulting services and/or business(es)?
Do you issue Press Releases?
If so, when?
Do you publish Press Releases upon the release
of new products and/or
services?
Do you distribute Press Releases jointly upon
new clients’ / project(s)
“Launches”?
How do you most effectively distribute and/or
get your Press Releases
published?
How has this worked for and/or benefited you?
What have you found to be the most effective
publications to which to
submit your Virtual Consulting Press Releases?
We are compiling links to various “press” resources,
etc. in our
Resource Center also for your use and benefit
at:
http://www.thevcf.com/vccenter.phtml#PRESS
We look forward to hearing from you for our mutual
benefit.
We Hope this all helps!

#5 How (else) Do You Market Your Virtual Consulting
Services?
-----------------------------------------------------------
From: Michael S. DeVries <DeVries@cris.com>

Dear Fellow Virtual Consultants,
How Do You Market Your Virtual Consulting Services?
What resources, tools, techniques, etc. do you
use to market your
Virtual Consulting services (and/or products)?
Which ones are most successful / work best for
you?
Which ones don’t work for marketing Virtual Consulting
services? And why
not?
The “Internet Marketing Guru’s” all seem to “stress”
the same Main
Point, namely that…
“The Money is in The List!”
Meaning, apparently, that the best / main ways
to make money in internet
marketing is by marketing to your email list(s)
members, with whom you
already have a relationship and some level of
rappoire and trust!
Would you agree with the “Guru’s” on this?
Why? Or why not?
We are compiling links to various list building
sites, systems,
resources, etc. in our Resource Center also for
your use and benefit at:
http://www.thevcf.com/vccenter.phtml#BUILDLIST
We are also compiling links to various other
marketing resources, etc.
in our Resource Center also for your use and benefit
at:
http://www.thevcf.com/vccenter.phtml#MARKET
You may also find under this category, a few
beginning listings for
“Start Page Exchanges”, wherein you set your browser’s
start page to
open to and display a web site from one of these
exchanges, while your
web page is then displayed to others within the
given exchange.
Not only are these additional ways to get your
web site seen by others
who may not otherwise see it, but …
I also recently read somewhere, and will come
back and give credit to
whomever and wherever I read it when I recall
/ find it again, that it
is also a good idea to participate in several
of these start page
exchanges and rotate the one which you use as
your “start page” from day
to day to expose more different audiences to your
web site(s).
So … we will also add more of these “Start Page
Exchange” resources for
your further benefit as we are able.
We also invite and welcome you to send us any
additional list building
and marketing sites, systems, resources, etc.
of which you are aware of
and/or find for inclusion in these resource listing
for the benefit of
all!
We look forward to hearing from you for our mutual
benefit.
We Hope this all helps!
